Al Ramsey was born in Harrow, England and emigrated to the U.S. as a teenager looking for a less-limited future. Here he combined writing with an education in engineering and embarked on a career as a technical writer. After several positions with well-known technology firms, Ramsey founded Hitek Marketing, Inc., a consulting company serving clients such as General Electric, Chicago Pneumatic and American Optical.
Sometime later, he began to dabble in oils for fun and relaxation. Soon he was painting seriously and his work was starting to sell.
Today, retired from business, Ramsey paints scenes and subjects suggested by his local environment, which includes the Finger Lakes Region and the Adirondack Park.
